Vintage Diamond and Ruby Set Pearl Necklace with 13000 Pearls

Although the closure of this necklace is made somewhere in the Fifties, the 24 strings of seed pearls are most probably much older. We think they can be as old as the second half of the 19th Century. As is still the case today, it was not uncommon to refurbish jewellery into a more contemporary wearable style. What’s interesting is that what once was considered to be contemporary, is by itself considered vintage already.
