The Etruscan community flourished in Italy between the 8th and 3rd century BC.

In the 19th century, the Victorians drew inspiration from the archaeological discoveries at Pompeii and Herculaneum and patterned their designs and workmanship off the ancient practices of the Etruscan community. Jewellery pieces from this Etruscan revival period reflect the scrolled wirework, granulation and repousse of the original Etruscan community. Victorian’s drew from descriptions of Etruscan cities, landscapes and jewellery, which inspired pieces to be commissioned and started what was known as the Etruscan Revival.
