Antique Edwardian Split Pearl and Peridot Necklace in 15ct Gold

A 15ct gold, floral motif, necklace set with split natural pearls and Pear shape Peridots. It really is difficult to convey just how pretty a piece this is. The pearls are all well matched with no obvious replacements, although there is always a possibility some would have been replaced in this piece’s lifetime. The Peridots are nicely matched with little variation in colour and only the larger, centre, stone showing eye-visible inclusions. But it is important to remember that Peridots weren’t as plentiful in larger sizes when this was made. The clasp is a simple barrel snap which is still well sprung.

Measurements: The necklace itself measures 44 cm (17.25″) long with the drops graduating from 12 mm (0.5″) to 28mm ( 1.12″) long. The gem set section spreads across 125 mm (5″) at the front.

Stone details: The split pearls measure from 0.8 mm to 2.7 mm in diameter and they are all still bright. The Peridots range in size from 5 x 3.2 mm to 8.6 x 5.4 mm and again, all are bright.

Metal and Marks: The piece is stamped on the back of the central flower “15ct” and has been tested to confirm this.

Condition: This piece is in very good condition. The chain has very little wear for its age, clasp is still tight and the stones are bright. A very nice example to see.
