Murrle Bennett & Co Jewellery
Murrle Bennett & Co, Goldsmiths and Silversmith known for their Arts & Crafts jewellery flourished between 1884 and 1914.
Ernest Murle was a German born jeweller, his partner was Englishman Mr J B Bennett. Arthur Liberty worked closely with the company.
Some of their designs were very similar to those of Archibald Knox, he may well have had an influence. Liberty & Co, became the main outlet for the companies very wearable pieces, which featured Arts & Crafts and Celtic motifs, set with such stones as turquoise or chalcedony often with baroque pearl.
The firm was sold in 1916 and continued under the name Redgrove & Whyte
