Falize

Falize, French Jewellery House established by Alexis Falize in 1839.

The Alexis had completed an apprenticeship in all aspects of goldsmithing and had worked for Mellerio in Paris.

His particular artistry was skilled enamelling which he had experimented with for many years leading him to produce brightly coloured pieces of Cloisonné set with gem stones.

His son the equally talented Lucien succeeded his father, designing jewellery based on the renaissance period and Japanese Art.

After Lucine’s untimely death the firm continued under the leadership of his three sons, who win The Grand Prix for their Art Nouveau jewellery at the Paris exhibition of 1900
