Vintage French Retro 18ct Gold, Diamond and Sapphire Feather Brooch

A retro 18ct gold double feather French clip brooch with polished sculptural 3D feathers typical for the post war period. One rosé gold feather is calibré set with diamonds and the other yellow gold feather is set with calibré set sapphires, they are held together by a little platinum and brilliant cut diamond ribbon.

The 1940s and 1950s show us a lot of bolder abstracted naturalism in jewellery and a preference for brooches. Many great French jewellery houses, like Mellerio, made similar feather brooches with spikes and scrolls.
