A unique and unusual Victorian 9ct yellow gold locket set with rose cut diamonds, rubies, split pearls and multi-hue enamel. Circa 1870.

The front of the locket is beautifully crafted and showcase a wonderful selection of eye-catching colours. With reverse panel to display a picture of a loved one or keep plain as desired.

A Holbeinesque style piece with its use of gemstones and enamel very much in the manner of Holbein (in reference to the famous German artist Hans Holbein the younger (1497-1543)).
