Victorian Antique Garnet and Gold Snake Necklace

A stunning serpent necklace, composed of intricate, articulated 18ct yellow gold scales which wrap around the wearer's neck, leading to a snake's head featuring an oval cabochon garnet, which suspends a heart shaped locket pendant, holding a lock of hair to the reverse. Circa 1850.
