Victorian Antique 5.40ct Old Mine Cut Diamond Crescent Brooch

A late 19th century crescent moon brooch. The body is set with two rows of graduating old mine-cut diamonds, claw set in silver-upon-gold, with a plain inner curve and cut down set outer curve, with gold gallery work below. Secured with a removable pin and original hook and safety catch fitting.

The inner curve is numbered 970D, with a removable trembling hair pin fitting.

Presented in a fitted case. Circa 1890.
