A large Victorian oval 'carbuncle' cabochon garnet and diamond ring that shimmers and glows from the centre of this statement piece. Hand crafted in 18ct yellow gold throughout, the central cabochon garnet is decorated round its edge with a gold 'sunburst' design decorated with rose cut diamonds. Furthermore the cabochon is surrounded by a masterfully crafted and beautifully polished garnet halo. Hugely popular during the 1860's these Bohemian garnets were all the rage. A sizeable yet elegant ring the garnet has a deep, burgundy reddish hue inviting the eye and making this a true statement piece.

CONDITION - Overall very good condition for the age of the ring. The shank is strong showing little wear. There are minor scratches as would be expected from a ring of this vintage. The stone is securely set and all the garnet remains unchipped.
