French 2.30ct Sapphire and Gold Dress Ring, Circa 1950

An 18ct yellow gold ring of French manufacture designed as ridges of gold balls rising around the shank to meet a flat plaque set with 16 natural, unheated round-cut sapphires.

With makers mark MW for Melik Watch et Cie, makers of watches and jewellery in Paris.

  • Total sapphire weight: 2.30 carats
  • The ring is stamped with the eagle’s head for French manufacture and 18 carat gold
  • UK finger size M, US size 6.25, weight: 16.3 grams.
