A very fine foiled rock crystal intaglio of Apollo with a lyre.

This intaglio is a remarkably small size with a width of only 10mm, it is of equal quality to any of the master intaglio carvers of the period.

Mounted in a gold fob seal

English, Circa 1790.

A very similar depiction of the same subject by both Brown and Birch exists but with the lyre through the neck.
