Antique Baroque Diamond Heart Cross Pendant in Gold and Silver, Circa 1720

A resplendent Baroque pendant, believed to be of northwestern European descent, resonates with the exuberance of circa 1720. This 'à la Jeannette' piece, showcasing a heart and cross motif, is masterfully crafted in 14 carat yellow gold with silver accents, a hallmark of the era's luxurious aesthetic. Technique
The rose cuts are set on foil. This is a special technique that was used to bring the lustre of the diamonds to its best quality.

Extra information
This type of pendant is typically Belgian and generally made in the late 18th till mid-19th century. They are called 'à la Jeannette'. A croix à la Jeanette (French for: "cross in the style of Jeanette"). It is a pendant in the form of a heart with a latin cross dangling from it.

Diamonds
One extra ordinary large centre stone in a size we have never had before in our collection and 21 more some sort of combination between table cut rose cut diamonds and flat cut  old brilliant cut diamonds and five senailles. A senaille is a simplified rose cut diamond, a small diamond chip with perhaps a few polished facets. We do not have the weight of these diamonds which is normal in our trade when it comes to rose cut diamonds and senailles.
