We are delighted to offer this exquisite antique Victorian 15ct gold garnet cabochon pendant necklace made c.1880.

Featuring a stunning Etruscan revival design, this piece displays neoclassical design in all its might, distinguishing itself from contemporary jewellery.

Mounted in antique gold, a central garnet cabochon of a regal red hue is present, particularly highlighted under natural sunlight - reflecting a striking strawberry candied-like red in certain angles.

Surrounding the cabochon is fine wirework with neoclassical embellishments which is further accentuated by the bottom tasselled section. Distinctly Victorian and exemplary of their meticulous intricacy, each tassel features a fine reticulated design which allows it to flow and move freely upon wearing. Such a design offers the perfect opportunity to display high-level goldsmithing; one can imagine how timely and skilled the goldsmith must have been to make such a fine yet fluid design with solid gold.
