Antique Victorian Garnet Diamond and Gold Snake Necklace

A stunning Victorian garnet and diamond snake necklace. A cabochon-cut garnet forms the head which suspends a heart shaped garnet hanging from the mouth, both decorated with old-cut and rose-cut diamonds, in a floral design, in silver settings. The tapering, articulated scale link body is crafted from gold and has an engraved tail end loop. Circa 1860.
