This late 19th century piece is made from solid 18ct gold and has a wonderful 'buttery' yellow gold tone that exudes Victorian elegance and opulence. Circa 1890

The heart locket has been meticulously hand-engraved with the most splendid scrolled acanthus motifs which not only reflect light wonderfully but also display the high level of goldsmithing and craftsmanship of the period.

The reverse side presents a glass back locket which can be unmounted to insert a photo.

The locket is unmarked as is common with articles of this period and as such we have tested it, indicating 18ct gold.
