Antique Russian 12ct Cabochon Sapphire and Old Cut Diamond Cluster Earrings in 14ct Gold
A stunning pair of antique Russian earrings featuring large cabochon blue sapphires surrounded by old-cut diamonds. Mounted in 14ct yellow gold, with post and clip fittings.
Earrings made in Russia, Circa 1850's.
These earrings were originally purchased in Sotheby's London 17th September 1998 auction. Earrings come with the original document.
Catherine II, most commonly known as Catherine the Great, was Empress of Russia from 1762 until 1796, and owned a very similar pair of earrings.
