Antique French 18ct gold crown/coronet brooch made c.1900.
The brooch is intricately crafted from antique 18ct gold with a silver front in which the gems have been very finely set. The crown is embellished with 9 points & pearls at the top, followed by a row of rubies, emeralds and diamonds. In between each row lies a fabulous array of fine old rose-cut diamonds, graduating in size for each section. A 9-pointed crown/coronet is typically associated with a count/countess in French heraldry.
The silver front allows for the diamonds to sparkle even more and presents a uniform white appearance that twinkles in a chic and splendid way. Due to a slight curvature and the many facets of the rose-cut diamonds, the brooch sparkles in all angles upon wearing and is truly a showstopper.
The brooch is marked with French hallmarks of a juxtaposed boar and eagle head, indicating a mount of both gold and silver.

Condition: good antique condition with no major issues or damage; there is possibly some old restoration on the reverse side, as well as small splits of the gallery, however, nothing major that affects usage. Some slight surface wear as expected with antiques of this age.
