A French, Edwardian, pearl, diamond and enamel, circular, pendant brooch, by Basset & Moreau, with a pearl in the centre, measuring approximately 4.3mm, with a pierced lace-like openwork surround, set with old-cut diamonds and green enamel decoration, mounted in platinum, with a surround of thirty-six 2.4mm seed pearls, with an estimated total diamond weight of 0.30ct, circa 1910. Approximately 32mm in diameter.

With a French eagle head mark on the back of the brooch. Platinum was officially recognized by the French government as a precious metal in 1910, at which time the eagle's head, for gold, was also used for platinum. In 1912, a special mark, for platinum, was introduced, a dog's head. With a removable brooch fitting and concealed pendant loop, with a French eagle head mark on the hook, the back end of an eagle head on the pin, for 18ct white gold.

With a makers mark with B a dog and M, Basset & Moreau, 1900 to 1912.
