1918 Lynx & Motto Intaglio Signet Ring

A striking 1918 lynx & motto intaglio signet ring, finely engraved with a wild cat, appearing as a lynx, standing above the Latin motto “CAUTUSQUE VIGILANS”, meaning “cautious and watchful”.

The finely detailed engraving depicts the animal in profile, with its raised ears, textured coat and long tail carefully worked into the substantial oval signet face. Crafted in 18ct gold and hallmarked for London 1918, with the maker’s mark B&Co and product number, the ring has broad, gently tapering shoulders and a beautifully substantial traditional signet form.
