Vintage Ruby and Demantoid Garnet 18ct Gold Snake Ring

Vintage Ruby and Demantoid Garnet 18ct Gold Snake Ring

A beautiful serpent ring set with a ruby stone on the head with demantoid garnet eyes in 18ct yellow gold. This ring shows marks from 1957 however shows the quality and every sign of being Victorian in age. We would suggest this is Late Victorian that has later been re-hallmarked. Queen Victorian took her beliefs from when Prince Albert proposed to her with a continuous snake ring like this but set with her birth stone (an emerald). She then announced the snake as a symbol of eternal love and become a very popular symbol throughout the Victorian Era when this ring was crafted.
