ALAN MARTIN GARD: Born in London, 1935.

He trained as an apprentice jeweller, under Crombie’s on the corner of Maddox Street and Bond Street after which, he worked with big names such as Andrew Grima, and Hooper Bolton before setting up his own jewellery business in 1964.
Alan Gard has had many successful exhibitions at both Goldsmiths Hall and Design Centre London, as well as various exhibitions in America.
He has won various prizes in “De Beers engagement ring design contest” and designed all the jewellery and medals for the films Nicholas and Alexandra and Modestie Blaise.
Alan was at his height of popularity in the 1970s making thousands of pieces; both commissions and collections, selling them to both national and international clients. Many pieces were sold through Hooper Bolton. Today, Alan is well established in the London hierarchy of top-quality jewellers, and collectors.
