Victorian Antique Blue Enamel and Diamond Set Gold Snake Bangle Bracelet

A mid 19th century blue enamel, diamond, ruby and gold snake bangle. Showcasing two entwined silver snakes, set with rose-cut diamonds, with cabochon-cut ruby eyes; Each snake has an open mouth, one has a tongue, the other has a loop to hang a pendant. The snakes are superimposed on an a dark blue guilloché enamel, tapering hinged gold bangle. Circa 1850.

Presented in a double door case.

In Victorian symbolism the coiled snake represented eternal love.
