Georgian Enamel and Rose Cut Diamond Monocle Fob Pendant
A rare Georgian 14ct yellow gold rose-cut diamond and enamel monocle fob pendant. Circa 1830.
The outer casing is features rose-cut diamonds arranged in a central 6 point star-like motif, mirrored on both sides. The background is a delightful burgundy red enamel around which a further white enamel dotted border sits. There is further green enamel detail to the swivel housing making this a green, white and red/purple enamel piece (suffragette).
The monocle itself appears to be original and has a magnification of approx. 3-5x.
- Dimensions: 25mm (including bale) L x 12mm W
- Hallmark: Unmarked, which is not unusual for the period. Tested throughout as 14ct gold using a touchstone
- Gross weight: 3.6 grams
- Condition: Very good, surface scratches and wear commensurate with age. There have been no alterations or additions to the fob, the lens appears to be original and opens and closes securely
