Antique Victorian Large Oval Gold Engraved Double Sided Locket Pendant

A late 19th century large, oval 9ct yellow gold double sided locket, ornately engraved on both sides; one with a central unmarked plaque above which sits a bouquet of flowers surrounded by fine and detailed cursive motifs, the reverse side with a free-flowing foliate inspired design with floral detailing.

The locket opens to reveal a double sided clear, glass compartment which traditionally would have been used by the original Victorian owner to hold a loved one, or in this case up to four, close to their heart.

The locket is finished off with a large oval chased loop ideal for looping through finer or larger chains as desired.
