Antique Georgian Gold Filigree Pique and Ruby Butterfly Brooch

A striking Georgian gold filigree and cannetille detailed pique butterfly brooch. The wings formed of a single piece of tortoiseshell are adorned with inlaid gold leaf shaped pieces and centrally set highly ornate gold cannetille work relate from the body of the butterfly. The highly detailed and hand formed gold body a top two round, faceted ruby eyes sit from which masterfully crafted proboscis protrude.
