Antique Georgian French Pearl and Diamond Novelty Swallow Brooch

Sweet novelty brooch from the Georgian period, bearing French hallmarks 1796 ca – handcrafted of solid 18ct gold and silver portions.

Featuring four Swallows laying on tracks, beautifully featured with natural pearls on sides, the swallows arranged in groups of three and one standing up-front, highlighted by rose-cut diamonds, ruby eyes, dark stone inserts making the wings, possibly garnets.

Diamonds approx .75ct.

It measures 26 x 45 mm with 10.2 grams.

Fine condition, keeping with age.

Rare find, symbolic and lovely expression of past eras.
