A striking antique Art Deco hexagonal old European cut diamond and sapphire ring set with a central 0.17ct old European cut diamond surrounded by six Swiss brilliant cut diamonds and six sapphires on an 18ct yellow gold band. Circa 1920.

Condition: excellent condition

Period: ca. 1920

Material: Two tones of precious metal, the main part being 18ct yellow gold and the white parts are either white gold or platinum.

Diamond(s): One old European cut diamond with an estimated weight of 0.17ct.
Six Swiss brilliant cut diamonds (also called 16/16) with an estimated weight of 0.30ct.

Total diamond count: Seven pcs.

Total diamond weight: approx. 0.47ct with an average colour and clarity: G/J, si/i.

– All diamond weights, colour grades and clarity are approximate since stones are not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.

Precious stones: Six sapphires (lab produced) (also called verneuil sapphire). The fact that these stones are lab produced has no influence on the value of this jewel. Natural sapphires and lab produced sapphires were both used in this era, rather more for their effect than for their intrinsic value.

Hallmarks: No trace.
