Victorian Antique Sapphire Diamond Ruby and Gold Snake Bangle Bracelet

A mid 19th century, Victorian snake bangle. The head features a cushion cut sapphire surrounded by a cluster of rose cut diamonds, in pear shape settings and cabochon cut ruby eyes, with twisted wire and granulation decoration. The open mouth features teeth and a tongue. The gold body is detailing with the tail curling around the neck, in a fire gilded matt finish. Secured with a box and tongue clasp and safety chain on a hinged body. Circa 1860.
