Antique Victorian Stunning Gigantic Double Strand Natural Basra Pearl Necklace
Antique Victorian Stunning Gigantic Double Strand Natural Basra Pearl Necklace
Saved in a jewellery box for many years is this splendid sea treasure dating 1870 ca!
A truly spectacular double strand of Natural Basra pearls from the Persian Gulf.
Rare size ranging in from an average of 12 mm to 3 mm – pearls are all pure untreated as found in the depth of the sea, beautiful colour from white cream to silvery white and superb lustre with them.
They are graduated in size and beautifully mounted in an outstanding length of 96 cm. The shorter strand! The necklace weighs 71.7 grams!!!
This is rarer than hen’s teeth!
Chic, wearable, so unique bearing glamour and discrete charm.
Pearls vary in shape and are rather baroque, very nicely matched to each other even though not spherical, otherwise they would have been prohibitive in cost, especially of this size and weight.
Seldom seen of this size and length especially coming in double; this is the best antique Natural Basra Pearl necklace.
Still with its original 14ct rose gold closure.
Very good condition all through.
Makes a statement when worn!
