Art Deco Paltscho Vienna Red Chalcedony Black Onyx and Diamond Feather Brooch
A unique and eye-catching brooch in the form of a feather. One side crafted from carved red chalcedony, the other with black onyx, and accented with diamond dots along the feathers and rose-cut diamonds along the stem. Mounted in 14ct white gold. Circa 1920.

- Condition: Good condition, one very slight hairline on the red chalcedony (need close attention to spot it)

The firm of Paltscho was founded in Vienna Austria in 1899 by Ernst Paltscho who had trained under his father Karl. He soon established himself and began attracting the attention of a diverse group of clients including Austro-Hungarian aristocracy and the Greek Royal household. In 1914 he partnered with Emil Biedermann and they moved to new premises in the First District, the centre of Vienna, trading as Biedermann & Paltscho.
