Rudolf Trudel was a notable Swiss goldsmith primarily based in Zürich. Trudel’s creations always featured high-quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship. And from 1967 Kurt Aepli started working for them.

Kurt Aepli (1914-2002) – born in Switzerland – was a renowned master goldsmith, designer, and teacher. Aepli made innovative designs that got international recognition. In 1967, Trudel Juwelier acquired Meinrad Burch’ firm and Aepli continued working as head designer for Rudolf Trudel who gave him complete freedom. Aepli also occasionally designed for other firms such as Gübelin and Patek Philippe. His designs were revolutionary for their time, questioning traditional forms and materials. Aepli used geometric stylized shapes with a playfulness twist. The prominent rounded square shaped shank of this ring is a returning detail in Trudel’s designs
