Vintage 2ct Old Mine Cut Diamond and Sapphire Target Cluster Engagement Ring

An estate, mid 20th century diamond and sapphire engagement ring. The central 2ct cushion-shaped old mine-cut diamonds is surrounded by calibre French-cut sapphires. Mounted in platinum with beautiful handcrafted openwork under-gallery and millegrain detailing, accented with delicate diamond-set shoulders. Circa 1940’s/1950’s.

Accompanied with WGI laboratory certificate

  • Principal diamond: approx. 2 carats, measuring 7.64 x 6.55 x 4.51mm, J colour with VS2 clarity
  • Remaining diamonds (4): approx. 0.05 carat total
  • Sapphires (22): approx. 0.65 carat total, a couple are synthetic. This is not uncommon in vintage and antique jewellery – where a couple of stones may have fallen out over time, synthetic sapphires will prove the best option for a better colour match.
