The provenance to the name on the antique box has been lost with time.
It is quite an unique name, which we have googled. There is a record of a Joan Elizabeth Dreschfield marrying Ernest Bradley, a dental surgeon, in Christ’s Church in the City of Salford in 1927. The marriage record showed that her parent’s address at the time of the marriage was 17 Carlisle Mansions, Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, London. Her father-in-law was a merchant and her own father was also a dental surgeon, but had died before the wedding. Very progressively, both the bride and groom’s mother’s were the witnesses to the marriage.
We can only presume this could be the same Joan Dreschfield.
