This impressive antique Victorian Virgin Mary and baby 18ct gold natural pearl pendant, 1870 ca, is of French origin, bears French hallmark
A large and outstanding example comes in its original box from Paris
Beautiful religious artwork handcrafted of solid 18ct gold
The miniature itself is 29 x 25 mm depicting a very tender portrait of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus beautifully painted to impressed
Set in a raised rub over mount within a frame of natural split pearls running along the whole oval and the bail too
The reverse shows mother of pearl backing and a pin work that allows it wearing as a central piece on a ribbon by removing the gold bail
The pendant measures 52 x 34 mm. without the bail 38 mm. the bail
Very good condition commensurate to age and use
