Chaumet, The French House of Chaumet was founded in 1780 at the Rue St Honore Paris, by Marie- Etiene Nirot. He is credited with the creation of the tiara, which was popularised after he created a diamond set tiara for Empress Josephine to be worn at the coronation of Napolean.

Many commissions followed and for 150 years the company produced jewels for the elite. The Art Deco period was a golden era for Chaumet, geometric forms, and pieces set with carved gem stones in strong colours bought worldwide acclaim, later in the 20th Century the company produced items with a bee motif a reference to the company’s Napoleonic connection
